I wonder why we came
To these stone steps
Stone steps, stone steps
I crushed my teeth
When I was a kid against
Stone steps, stone steps
But they didn’t fall out
No they didn’t fall out
They didn’t fall out
No they didn’t fall out
I was fooling around with my ma
My head under the coat
That she carried in her hand
I couldn’t see the stone steps
I crushed my front teeth against
But they didn’t fall out
No they didn’t fall out
Blood in the sink
But they didn’t fall out
They grew long roots
Deep into my jaw
So they had to be pulled out
Had to be pulled out
When the new teeth grew
They had to be pulled out
Now I sit on stone steps
All the time, waiting for
All of my teeth to fall out
