One day you ran into a parading seaman
He told you that the sky was blue, the sea was red
And both of his eyes were bad
He surely had a blast, with the cast starring only himself
He made me rethink the concept of a
Parade on a sunny summer day
What’s the concept of this world
In a seaman’s heart
Is it the stars that guide him home
If the radar is down
The seaman lost his way, all his stars turned black in a black sky
He only guessed the color of the sea from his
Memory and the blood in his eyes
A soldier appeared on the pier, where the seaman was parading
I guess he understood, cause he produced a trumpet and then
He joined that ridiculous parade
It seemed to me then that everyone on the pier was joining in
That parade became the reality of a hundred people
Led by the trumpet that the soldier blew
What’s the concept of this world
For a soldier that is shot
Is it the medals on his breast
Or the comrades he has lost
Beat me up with a stick if your time permits
Make me feel more alive is what the seaman cried
Wash the blood from my eyes tell me when the sun arrives
Let the sea be my bride is what the seaman cried
